Damn. This made my day. Does just enough and the controls are tight (at least on VICE). With the laser beans there's just enough challenge. I can totally have seen myself loading this from a PD disk passed to me without a label or downloaded off a BBS.

I really love your having an official music recommendation and it's slick how you integrated it into the web version. I loaded it up to loop on VLC for the complete experience.

One thing I would recommend is including a README in the zip confirming you should load and jump to the .bin directly at $8000. I know that's the standard, but I still had to guess. Obviously, a self loading d64 would be even better. Also, the README definitely needs to include the keyboard controls. I assume they are strange to work with the embedded web emulator, but for me they were something bizarre like 1,2,END, and CTRL.

I really appreciate your bringing this to NG. This is awesome!

siddikinz responds:

Thanks! I totally forgot to include a README with the zip file, but I'll be sure to add one now. I'll also include a self loading disk image like you suggested!

EDIT: The zip file now includes a README and a self loading disk image!

Sure there's a couple of bugs with the hotspots and sizing and I do miss the visceral aspect of being able to actually drag and drop the clothes, but it's all more than made up for by the theming and having an actual goal. It's a nice little take on doing something more with the toy format. I like it!

[edit/reply1] So the black and white striped "Beetlejuice" blouse seems to become unclickable when you're wearing certain tops. You have to switch to a different top and then you can click it. Could be a matter of just a small area to click on I'm not sure.

Thetageist responds:

You’re the second person to suggest adding drag and drop. I think I’m going to look into figuring out how to do that in Game Maker. Biggest question is probably going to be how to make it work both ways, so that it isn’t confusing for people who play these either way.

(Also, what hotspots are you referring to, am I missing a bug?)

Pretty good walking demo.

Joe Bob says: Check it out!"

The execution on this is at a whole new level. It feels like a polished mobile game. Banger job.

Love the lighting and 3D effects.

Scratch and Turbowarp. Nice!

This is an amazing little experiment. I love how the gameplay is driven by the rap track and the hitboxes and controls accurately simulate what I imagine to be both of your levels of physical fitness.

Cyberdevil responds:

Appreciate it. :) Main menu weight/height stats are 100% real, current visual physical fitness otherwise potentially a liiittle bit buffed up for my character. Kwing's in great form for real.
