I did have an issue where the triggers (as apposed to the shoulder buttons) didn't swap colors, but I was able to use the keyboard for that. Also, I really like how the onscreen controls swap between showing keys and showing gamepad buttons based on what you last touched. Pretty slick.

My only other UI comment is that I expected to be able to "tab" or move my cursor over the whole UI instead of having to use one set of keys/buttons to swap styles, another for tabs, and yet another for colors. Yes that's slower, put we've been trained by other UIs that that should work.

Snow-Hex responds:

I understand, about the triggers (for some reason in the browser version they don't work, in the downloadable version they do), about the rest I can only say thank you very much for your comment. :)

I had a good time. I like how the game's approach to tower defence leans towards the "competitive idle game" spectrum of tower defence.

octopus58 responds:

Thank you very much! I see what you mean honestly haha, my original intention was to make it kind of beginner friendly kinda, but it also definitely feels like an idle game too

This was an awesome way to ring in the new year! I loved this demo start to finish. Light and easy to get into with just enough depth. Good luck with adding more!

StarBladesGames responds:

Glad you enjoyed it!

Couple of performance issues (and I could only get it running in Firefox) but it was an enjoyable hour (I "enjoyed the scenery") of Mario remix. Amazing music as always.

Edit: I definitely enjoyed it! It was a really cool way to experience SMB1 again, the infinite spawning and the way things were strung together made everything feel fresh again. This being (I assume?) a custom engine is even more impressive. What base tech? You should write something up. :)

WaterSilverC responds:

Yeah, preformance issues are my fault. In essence I had forgotten how big smb1 actually is and just loaded everything in memory. I was skipping too much as a kid I guess and remembered it shorter.

Interesting that it works well for firefox for you. I developed the engine in firefox but it started stuttering a bit but when I use chrome it's totally smooth. I guess it depends on the machine.

Anyway glad you liked it!

Please circle back when things are less crazy and add checkpoints. This has really good "Chip's Challenge" vibes and I love the ghost girl.

Grent responds:

Des had a lot of fun designing her and I had a blast writing her, so I'm glad you enjoyed her character! I'm definitely considering adding g a checkpoint system if I get some downtime in the near future; I'm sure I'll post about it if that happens.

Thanks for playing!

A nice atmospherically Lovecraftian interactive short. To me, it's a welcome entry to the spooktacular.

I see this is your first game on NG. Welcome!

WURMxFUD responds:

Hey, thank you! Looking forward to posting many more.

Really like the clever use of the medium in the "title" sequence and the general cinematic feel of the opening. Keep going!

Finn-dHope responds:

Thank you, it really means a lot. The tool you provided to the community worked like a charm, I'll definitly be using it in future uploads.

Excellent action puzzler with a great sense of humour (the voice acting is amazing). Asks a lot system and download-wise for such a simple game and presentation, but isn't buggy and has wonderfully tight controls. This is definitely one I'm gonna complete.

MadNukin responds:

Thank you for the nice review, I'm really happy you enjoyed the humor :)

3 stars for effort.

[edit:] Of course you should upload. :)

John4eyes responds:

I made this over a year ago should I upload a demo to the Pico game i'm working on now?

Really love the vibes of this game. The tasks drive you just enough to really explore the island and I love how they intertwine all the residents. By the time you've completed all of them you really feel like you know the town. If you guys can pull it off, a bigger version of the game with this level of momentum would be amazing.

The presentation is perfect. I love the flat paper style and the music is👌and switches up at just the right moments.

I did encounter a bug that made me feel the current lack of saves: the animation for petting a sheep placed me on a slope that I afterwards couldn't escape from. Hopefully just teething pains. I'm rooting for you guys to get this on iOS!

Bleak-Creep responds:

Thanks so much for playing and I’m glad you enjoyed your time with it! I’m sure Peti will look into the sheep bug, but I don’t think I’ve ever encountered anything like that myself so I imagine it’s probably pretty rare.

I dunno if we have any real big updates planned for the furure, but I’m crossing my fingers for mobile support later on too! :)
